Engagement and the first years of marriage are important milestones in the family life cycle. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of Gottman's premarital education in comparison with the SYMBIS model on the patterns and injuries of Turkmen married couples. The research method was quasi-experimental with two experimental groups, a control group, pre-test, post-test, and 3-month follow-up and 24 couples from Turkmen couples who referred to Gonbadkavos New Life Counseling Center from July to October 2019. Purposefully selected and randomly divided into two groups of experimental marital enrichment by Gottman method (8 couples = 16 persons), SIMBIS model pre-marital enrichment (8 couples = 16 persons), and control group (8 couples = 16 persons). Were replaced. Gottman's premarital training sessions lasted 8 sessions for 4 weeks, 90 minutes two sessions per week, and SYMBIS premarital training sessions for 8 sessions, 90 minutes weekly for 4 weeks. Was. Participants in all three groups completed the Questionnaire Evaluation and Measurement Patterns and Premarital damage Rostami, Navabinejad, and Farzad (2019). Data were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. The results showed that the effect of Gottman's premarital intervention and SIMBIS's premarital intervention on dysfunctional communication patterns (F = 6.44, P = 0.003), ineffective relationship management patterns (F = 3.68, P = 0.033), Couples' value system (F = 9.17, P = 0.001), schema mentality (F = 3.80, P = 0.030), and the destructive effects of the main family (F = 11.58, P = 0.001) are effective. Influence remained constant at follow-up. The results of the Tukey post hoc test also showed that there was no difference between Gottman's premarital intervention and the SYMBIS model. Since both methods lead to improved patterns of pre-marriage trauma and trauma for participants, it can be used as an effective intervention to resolve problems and improve the couple's relationship.

The nomination period is an intermediate period that prepares a person to choose the right one and to enter a common life. Accordingly, the aim of the present study was to investigate the pathology of couples' problems in the stage of engagement. The study was conducted in a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach. theoretical saturation criterion, 13 couple’s engagement participated in this study. The semi-structured interview method was used to collect information. Then the data was collected, recorded, coded and categorized as main and sub themes. Analysis of the experiences of the interview with the candidate's couples resulted in the identification of 243 primary codes, 19 sub-themes and 5 main themes including ineffective communication patterns, patterns of inefficiency in relationship management, value system of couples, schematic mentality, and the destructive effects of the main family. The results showed that factors such as lack of understanding and interaction, communication problems, lack of originality, inability to encourage and reassure, inability to manage conflicts, lack of transparency of roles, inability to manage personal and personal boundaries, disability in social network management, attitude towards religion and spirituality, culture and traditions, beliefs, needs, traps, self-knowledge, emotional mood, dependency, negative family modeling, unsuccessful experiences in the family, and negative role of the family in problems and injuries. The nomination period for married couples plays an important role on the verge of marriage. Therefore, it is imperative to pay special attention to these important factors in pre-marital enrichment programs for young people.

Abstract: Post divorce adjustments is a process of separation from the marital relationships, solving emotions caused by marital dissociation, consolidation of relations with previous and new wife or both of them after divorce. The present research aimed to compare the impact of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) on strengthening the divorced womens’ self-esteem and post-divorce adjustment. The study was of a quasi-experimental type with pre-test, post-test and control group. 36 women were randomly assigned to experimental groups: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy group (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy group (CFT) and control group. Two experimental groups (ACT & CFT) received 8 weekly 90 minutes’ sessions of ACT and CFT. They were assessed by utilizing Cooper-Smith Self-esteem Inventory (SEI) and Fisher Post-Divorce Adjustment Scale (FADS) in pre test, post test and follow up phase. Post test result showed a significant improvement in the womens’ post-divorce adjustment and self-esteem in the ACT and CFT groups. The impact of both therapeutic approaches in the follow-up phase was sustained. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that both Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy, could not only promote the level of post-divorce adjustment in divorced women but also resulted in their improved self-esteem.
